Tech Tank

One course offered at the University of Saint Francis’s Keith Busse School of Business is MGMT 272, Management Information Systems. This course focuses on the importance and role of information systems throughout business and provides students with an understanding of how information systems are used throughout business. The culminating event for this course is called Tech Tank. Tech Tank is a forum where groups of students present their ideas to a panel of judges. Students are tasked with identifying a problem or challenge and are using information technology and information systems to address the problem. The Tech Tank Panel must decide if they are willing to provide IT Support to the student Group so they will be able to implement their product or service. This is the 3rd year of Tech tank.

There were six groups that presented to the Tech Tank Panel, and this years winners, comprised of Sophomores and Juniors, were Lauren Leugers, Alyssa Patterson, Jaqlyn Mills, and Patricia Newell. This group, entitled Tailored4You, came up with a concept for college students who are looking to save money when purchasing clothes. The idea is for a student to have a monthly subscription and will be sent a package of slightly used clothing. Tailored4You came to their Tech Tank pitch with a conceptual product as well as a website and mobile app. Professor Eve-Lynn Clarke said that these reasons as well as being the most prepared group is why Tailored4You was determined the winner of Tech Tank.

Congratulations to Tailored4You for their winning pitch of this semester’s Tech Tank!
